CLUB RULES
Safety and authenticity in training is important, so please pay attention to the following guidelines:
- Safety is priority number one. If you have concerns over your safety or safety of any other person in the class, please alert the instructor immediately.
- If you have a medical condition you need to let the instructor know before participating in a class.
- Avoid wearing rings / piercings / anything that can injure you during training.
- Consider getting a black keikogi, although initially loose clothes (T-shirt and tracksuit) are fine. Japanese tabi or socks is also okay.
- Train at your own pace and if you find the class moving too fast or if you don’t understand a technique, let the instructor know. Do not attempt to perform an exercise if you are not confident about doing so.
- If you develop any injuries during a class, let the instructor know immediately so a record can be complete, and first aid administered.
- The techniques taught must only be used in the defence of life and personal safety only.
- The instructor has the ultimate say as to whether one is fit to train or whether a rule has been broken.
- Be respectful to others; abusive or racist behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Be respectful to the martial art traditions and act responsibly during training, consider this a tribute to the many previous generations of martial artists and warriors.
Shizen Dojo also complies with the Bujinkan guidelines, as set out by Soke Masaaki Hatsumi (click here to view)
